2024 Season – Coaching Opportunities

Grange Royals Hockey Club is seeking expressions of interest for highly motivated and
experienced individuals to join our coaching team, to train and guide its hockey teams for the
2024 season and beyond. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and
implementing modern hockey practices, developing and managing game strategies, and
working closely with the players to enhance their skills and performance.

2024 Season – Coaching Opportunities


Positions Available (Men and Women):

  • Premier League Men’s Head Coach
  • Premier League Women’s Head Coach

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training sessions that focus on individual skill improvement and team performance.
  • Plan and execute game strategies that maximise the team's potential for success.
  • Work closely with and manage team members to help them achieve personal goals and improve their playing skills.
  • Work with all players, including upcoming junior players, to improve and develop skills, knowledge and gameplay.
  • Attend team meetings and competitions to provide guidance and support.
  • Assess player performance and provide feedback to help them improve their skills.
  • Oversee player fitness, strength and conditioning training.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a positive team environment and culture that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive values.
  • Work closely with other coaches within the coaching team.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in hockey, with a minimum of 3 years of coaching experience preferred.
  • Accredited coaching certifications or qualifications, including Hockey Australia Level 1 or 2 accreditations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively provide feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to teach and develop all aspects of the game, including technical skills, gameplay, fitness and knowledge.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends, as required.
